Switching to EVPlay stopped. Had to full reset Rivian to return functionality.

I installed the updated EV Play and Watchdog apps this week.

Sorry to report that I still have switching issues (won't switch to EV Play from Rivian even though I can hear it click with remote button press) every day or 2. Only powering down the unit resolves.

I updated WG and EV Play and experience the same issue that the EV Play appears to be running but does not let me switch to it. A remote on/off switch would be really nice.

Same issue. Disconnecting power and reconnecting is the only thing that seems to work, but issue reappears.

I’ve experienced the following several times especially after short R1T “naps”; leaving the vehicle for less than ~10 minutes:

EV Play will not switch away from native Rivian infotainment. iPhone sees CarPlay and is connected, relay clicks can be heard, but no actual video switching happens.

Sometimes this resolves itself after proper vehicle sleep.

I don’t think I’ve experienced it on this software version 2.2, but previously doing an Infotainment aka Rivian “software restart” has resulted in a black screen. In those instances I needed to disconnect EV Play power to resolve.
so now I’m reluctant to do Rivian “software restart” or “Vehicle Restart” because in the past it has made the issue worse - blank black screen with no backlight.

I’ve never seen any relief using “long press” of the remote, nor have I ever seen how long the long press should be.

EV Play has gotten more reliable over time, hoping that trend continues!

I unfortunately need to join this club.

update with the watchdog installed. This morning I got in and it won’t switch to EVPlay tried a long button press, soft reset and later a hard reset with no change, so I left it from about 9am until 10pm and it still won’t switch. I’ll try opening it up tomorrow and pulling the power

Update: Also pulling the red power wire did not bring it back, pulling the yellow one did

Late to the thread but I think I’m having the same issues too. Is the only fix to disconnect power to the play unit? I’d rather not take apart the dash again but if I must…
