@roger_joys @sacelectric Curious if you folks have the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max?
I had the same issue and tried a bunch of channels before I settled on 161 also with a iPhone 16 pro.
I tried your latest steps and it got Autobox-xxxx back in the list of access points but connecting to it with the password wouldn't resolve the configuration ip and either way, Carplay still won't connect. It looks like i'm not alone with this issue. I don't know if there were some bad wifi modules or dongles but I'm out of options for getting this to work. I'll shoot you another support email. Unless you know of more configuration steps, we should move onto swapping hardware so I can get a unit that works. Thanks.
I am having the same issue. I tried all the above steps but I can't get that ip address to resolve
@evplayadmin Can you list all of the correct settings. I did the restore default settings and the default settings are not the settings that the unit ships with. I had a black screen until I found one that made it work and then had to find another because the screen was zoomed in.
So, if you could list all of the correct settings to use after a default settings reset, that would be great.
Thanks,\Max
Is this referring to the wifi signal between your phone and EV Play unit. Or the general wifi signal to your home. My vehicle is parked in the driveway far enough where the signal is really weak and disconnects all the time (must use a hotspot on my phone). Will the above instructions improve the signal connection to my home wifi router.
Rivian R1S Gen 2, Blue, 22" Bright, Sound&Vision Pkg.
@mmarges The AA/CP wifi and EV Play wifi are two different modules, and thus unrelated. If you are regularly using the Android side of EV Play to stream, online game, etc, in your driveway, then you could potentially use a USB extension cable and mount the wifi dongle near the top of the dash or somewhere else that gets you a better connection.
I’m having this issue now, too. Can’t connect to the IP address to edit WiFi channel settings.
iPhone 15 Pro
ios 18.6.2
1) Delete/remove/unpair all Autokit/Autobox connections on your phone. This step is important.
2) Reset the AA/CP module to factory settings (AA/CP app>Advanced Settings>Restore Factory settings).
3) Once the app relaunches, connect to the Autobox wifi signal: password 12345678.
4) Use Safari (iPhone) or Opera (Android) and connect to 192.168.43.1
Let us know!
@evplayadmin I messed up and reset the whole EVPlay unit instead of just the CarPlay app 🙁 Now, I can’t even switch the screen over. I have yet to take advantage of EVPlay on a road trip. I’ll try unplugging the power and another Rivian software reset or two if I get time away from the beach.
@richard8a Not a problem. Two ways to fix...happy to walk you through it or remote in, provided you have a Windows laptop and a USB-A to USB-A cable. Or, just ship the unit back and we will reflash it. Reach out to me at alex@evplay.net.
My iPhone 16 Pro could not connect to 192.168.43.1 no matter what I tried (limit tracking off, private relay off).
What worked for me was using a laptop. Then I could access (slowly) the AA/CP settings and change the 5g channel to the highest available. Thanks all!
