CarPlay is really laggy, slow and stuttering. You swipe, wait, something happens. It’s not snappy at all.
Is this a hardware issue, and as a result and cannot be addressed.
Or is this is software issue?

This happens to me, but only when I first connect. After a while, it smooths out.

Also @rjaiswal. A few things to check:
Make sure your WiFi hotspot is turned off. If you need your WiFi hotspot turned on (you don't have Connect+ as an example), you'll need to do a wired CarPlay connection instead of wireless.
Also, try restarting your phone if you haven't lately.
Finally, ensure you are on the 5Ghz/161 WiFi channel:

Sorry for the late reply. My R1S Gen 2 has a connect+ subscription that evplay is connected to. Is it possible to change the wifi channel using the settings icon in the AA/CP app, or do I need to go to the webpage?
