I believe I have one of the first units shipped. I installed it in my wife's Gen 1 R1S. It has had a lot of problems and I have only started trying to fix it now. I have done everything I have found on this board except for the "hardware fix".
Before I do such a thing I want to be reassured I understand what is going on. My understanding is that I simply locate the correct wire, snip it and then tape off both ends. But what does this wire actually do? If it does nothing, why is it there to begin with and why does snipping it help? If it does something, what does it do and what will I lose by snipping it?
Am I understanding this correctly?
Thanks for any help.
Good question! What that wire does exactly is a little technical, but in a nutshell it is related to the bootup and shutdown functionality. So yes, the wire does do something, and that cutting it has solved the issue as reported by every customer that has performed it, as far as I know. You lose absolutely nothing by cutting it.
