I installed a passowrd manager app and it warned me that the EV Play Android OS was rooted.
Can you provide a little more info on that?
Why is that necessary?
What are the security implications?

I forgot to sticky this post, but here is a good answer to that question:
@evplayadmin Thanks for the speedy response, Alex.
However, I receive a 404 error when clicking on the link you provided and I can't find that thread with a forum search.
Sadly, no change.
- tried link
- did a full refresh
- tried in alternate browser
Still 404 not found.
Also still can't find when searching for "Secure" on forum.
Might it be marked private?

It was marked private for some reason even though I made it public...twice! Go ahead now.
Is there a root permission manager that I'm missing, or does every app have permission to use root?
So what difference does it make if you have root or not, don't install unchecked apps and everything will be fine )
@vasa211, some apps get bent out of shape if they detect root permissions because someone told their developers or executives that "rooted phones are unsecure", and they never stopped to think about what that actually means for their app.

The device itself is rooted; most apps don't use root but some do. As pointed out, only install apps from trusted sources and make sure to run an anti-virus app if you frequently (or even infrequently) run 3rd party apps.
