I finally have everything hooked up as described. However the call quality is awful. The person I am talking to sound like they are on an old analog line and they can barely hear me. When they can they would describe the quality as the same. Is there a setting for call quality or sound quality? The audio quality for everything else is fine.

Where have you placed the microphone?
@evplayadmin I was holding the mic up to my mouth to test it. But that doesn't explain the audio quality.
@jcornel7 I have to unfortunately go over the obvious, but is the mic plugged in correctly? The port is recessed and not the easiest to seat properly. The device will default to its onboard mic if the wired mic isn't plugged in, and that will lead to callers being "barely able to hear you."
As for call quality, normally the default settings work but you can certainly try changing them:
1) Turn off WiFi on your phone to break the current AA/CP connection.
2) Quickly click on the Settings screen (gear icon at the top left corner) on the AA/CP app. This prevents EV Play from re-attempting the AA/CP connection.
3) Turn WiFi back on and connect to the Autobox WiFi signal on your phone. Password is: 12345678
4) Download Opera AI browser (Chrome doesn't seem to work) and visit: 192.168.43.1 Might take a few refreshes to pull it up. If it prompts you about a poor internet connection, click Continue.
5) When the webpage loads, click on Audio Settings and try changing them to the attached.
6) Click on Confirm to save the change and reboot the AA/CP module.
Let me know.
I get why you're asking basics, so yes for sure the mic is inserted all the way. As a matter of fact I have tried 4 different microphones to be sure.
1. The call quality remains the same regardless of the mic or the settings as seen in the attached file. I call 804-222-1111 which does a call test where it can play tones and play your voice back to you. I even called my wife and a friend just to see if it was number or carrier related. Same issue happens no matter what.
A couple of side notes:
I used a laptop to get to AutoKit. (192.168.43.1) as it was the only way I could get to the screen in the attachment. Way easier.
I used the following mics with the same results, however good to note that they all work. Surprisingly the wireless mic worked as well as the others.
Here are the 4 mics I tried:
1. Included Mic (7 out of 10 for quality)
2. PowerDeWise Professional Grade Lav Mic - (10 / 10)
3. USB-C (with USB A Adapter) wireless mic (8/10)
4. NowTH 3.5mm Car Microphone (4/10)
For each mic I tried the Voice to text, calling the above number, etc.
So even after all the setting changes and testing there is something or some setting missing. The call quality is exactly the same (almost analog) no matter what mic or what settings.
Im open to try anything else....any ideas?
@jcornel7 Thank you for the information.
Confirming your Rivian audio is paired to EV Play (not your phone), and in the AA/CP app advanced settings, Audio Routing is set to "Box."
Something interesting in your mic test. The mic jack on EV Play is a TRRS port, and will not work with anything else. Amazon tells me the PowerDeWise is TRRS, but the NewTh is not. A USB mic should work as well.
OK Ive confirmed the mic port is fine. Which I guess makes sense because its really only the call quality that is the issue. I've made all the AutoKit changes, but there has to be a setting or something somewhere missing. I just cant believe the call quality would be so poor. Ive had
I dont know if those mics should work or not but they all did. Regardless I ended up with the PowerDeWise mic.
Audio from an audio book, podcast, or Spotify is perfect. Voice to text, damn near perfect. (Not being able to use the Rivian mic is not a great experience though). No matter who I call or who calls me the phone calls have a lot of static and again sound analog. I've used Android Auto in my Rivian before (Smart Dash Screen) and it was fine, just the display was too small. So I know it works well. Is there anything I can debug or use to see where the issue is?
@jcornel7 Email me and let's set up a time so I can call you to hear what it sounds like.
