In the latest install video it walks you through how to change the settings for Android.  Is it possible to use both Carplay and Anroid Auto?  I have an android and my wife has an IPhone.

Yes, check out the Getting Started guide I posted on our YouTube channel:

It's not 100% seamless, as you have to change the audio channel from Bluetooth to Box (and back again) in the AA/CP app every time you switch between Android / Apple. At least on the Android phones I have tested - maybe on yours you don't have to (meaning, you can leave it on Bluetooth). Also make sure when using Android Auto you pair your Rivian BT with EV Play, instead of your phone when you use CarPlay.

There is also a quirk with Android Auto that requires the use of a wired mic in order to use Google Assistant/Gemini. If you indicated Android Auto in your account, I included the mic in your package. I'm working on a fix and making some progress, but no ETA as of yet.

I'm trying to make Android Auto a smoother experience in general, but the huge amount of devices and Android OS flavors on the market makes it challenging. Some work just fine, some require the above workarounds. At least for now.

@evplayadmin do I have to change the audio delay every time as well?  It seems it is really only practical to use either Android Auto or Car Play.  Going into advance settings every time you change drivers is very cumbersome.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S24.  I'm getting mine installed Monday.  I'll see how it works out.

As far as the external mic, does it create a problem for an IPhone if the external mic is connected?

Thanks for working with all of us early adopters.

@blevinson No, you can leave the Media Delay to 750 and that shouldn't affect anything. And yes, no effect leaving the mic plugged in from what I recall.

Thank YOU for coming along on this crazy journey! Please reach out with any questions or feedback, good or bad. Always trying to improve the experience for all of you.
