I figure this should be relatively simple but I can't figure it out?

[1] EVPlay is on Rivian hotspot

[2] Android Phone (S25U) is on Rivian hotspot.

What's next?

I had a couple issues with this as well, mostly due to a mistake during installation. There is a video on youtube, but it's mixed with apple carplay, kind of slow and can be summarized in a few steps.

First and foremost, make sure nothing is connected to the black USB-A on the evplay device (to the right of the rest of the ports). I mistakenly put my wi-fi dongle on it, causing the evplay to endlessly attempt to connect and preventing me from setting the necessary advanced settings. If you want wired android auto/apple carplay, you'd use that port and may be able to skip the rest of this? But you may still have to update settings. Image attached

First, connect the device to wi-fi and sign into your evplay account:

  • Switch from the Rivian display to the Evplay display using the provided wireless button if needed
  • Click on the settings icon in the navbar, select "Network & Internet" and connect to a wi-fi network that has internet
    • don't connect to the AutoBox wi-fi
  • Once connected go back "home" and select the evplay app (orange arrow with black background)

Now prepare for android auto:

  • Switch from the Rivian display to Evplay display using provided wireless button if needed
  • Open the autokit app (green arrow with white background)
    • Click on the setting icon and set:
      • Decoding Method -> Software
      • Select Advanced settings
        • Media Delay -> 750
        • Audio Channel -> Box
  • Pair Evplay to Rivian
    • Go back home, select Settings in the nav bar, select "Connected devices" and "Pair new device
    • Switch to the Rivian display
    • Within the Rivian Media window, pair a new bluetooth device (click connect[ed] devices)
    • Attempt to pair with the 'Evplay' bluetooth device
    • switch to evplay to verify rivian paired with evplay, you may be presented a code to confirm, but you don't need to type it in
  • Pair Phone to Autokit (android auto)
    • Prepare your phone for bluetooth pairing
    • Pair with the Autokit device
    • Android auto should launch and your phone should prompt you for more information
