I noticed that my unit came with a number of non-standard (and non-Google) Android apps pre-installed, including 2 file managers, a Calendar app, a Contacts app, Lightning (search), etc.
It would be super helpful to have a list of the apps, what they do, and why they were selected.
Honestly, I'm also a bit concerned some of the apps can be trusted. The Calendar and Contacts app are not Google-authored and asked for my credentials. Decided instead to download the Google apps from the Play Store and those worked just fine.

They are standard AOSP (Google, but open source) apps that come bundled with Android OS. The only 3rd party app that I recall is Lightning, which is included because some folks don't care for the "bloat" in the Google Play or GMS ecosystems. Lightning is an older, yet lightweight 3rd party browser. It is well documented and there is no reason not to trust it or other apps that come bundled with EV Play.
