New install. Unable to ever connect to wireless Apple Car Play.
EVPlay is connected to Rivian Hotspot
iPhone is running on Verizon 5GUW with WiFi on but not connected to any WiFi
1. Start Auto-Kit
2. Connect to AutoKit-680e on iPhone Bluetooth
3. Accept CarPlay prompt on iPhone
4. EVPlay shows “Connecting to iPhone” and “Please make sure the phone’s WIFI status is on.
5. This goes on for about 30 seconds
6. Phone shows bluetooth connected and CarPlay toggled on
7. Eventually AutoKit goes back to main blue screen and says “Device found, trying to connect”
8. Goes back to “Connecting to iPhone”
9. This process loops over and over and never connects.
Already restarted the EVPLAY and IPHONE multiple times. Already updated EVPLAY to 2.9. Already went to Advanced settings and changed DECODING METHOD to HARDWARE & SOFTWARE to no avail.
APP VERSION: 2.9
OS VERSION: EVP-V-1.3
VEHICLE: 2023 Rivian R1T Gen 1
IPHONE: iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 26.0.1
Not sure if you tried this yet, but I had the same/similar problem and power cycling the unit worked for me. Unplugging for about 10-15secs did the trick. Restarting had never worked for
me.
@bigfatburrito Restarted/Power cycled numerous times. No connection. Finally toggled to SOFTWARE in advanced settings and wired directly into EVPLAY for a hardwire connection and I finally get CarPlay! But it always disconnects after 5 minutes and never stays on. Many times requires a complete restart. Reboot buttons for Carplay never work either.
