Sorry for the delay on this, that is very strange! Did you ever resolve it? Happy to swap out units if you haven't, please reach out via email - alex@evplay.net.

@evplayadmin I have not.  I have gone through all the settings and reset it multiple times.  Happy to troubleshoot in any ways you might know how.  If it needs a swap thats fine too.

@beerob Is this the microphone that plugs directly in to the port, or is it one where we included a microphone and an adapater?

I have a similar problem. Whenever I plug in the included microphone into the aux jack my evplay redirects audio to that port. I assumed I didn't have it plugged in all the way or that it was perhaps meant for a non-bluetooth audio system. I did shove it in pretty hard though, to the point I was concerned I might damage the connector if I went harder, so I'm doubtful that was the issue.

Afterwards I looked for settings that may tell android that the device was not a headset, but instead a microphone, but didn't see anything that could control it, and that type of device identification may be limited to bluetooth devices?

The mic appears to be necessary for the hands free operation, which is of course a big deal. Let me know what I can do to triage.

Beyond unplugging it and plugging it back in, I reset ACP/AA connection. I guess I could try rebooting the rivian entertainment, but that didn't seem like an obvious next step at the time.

@evplayadmin I have the one with the microphone and the adapter.  Is there a way to set this up so I can answer calls when EV Play is pumping through the truck's Bluetooth similar to how the truck works when its Bluetooth is connected directly to the phone?  Right now I'm running the mic through the included splitter but have not had a successful talk through it yet.  I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

@liquidauto @xenth Can you double check that "box" is the selected Audio Channel in the AA/CP advanced settings?

And that EV Play is paired with your Rivian Audio (not your phone) and that EV Play is the selected audio source.

@evplayadmin Ok.  It needs to be in Android Auto mode for this to work?  I'll get that set up.  I had the phone paired to the EV Play and the EV Play paired to the Rivian sound but was not running Android Auto since I was just using the Spotify app on the EV Play.

@evplayadmin I needed some good weather to test this and finally got it.

Box is definitely selected in the advanced settings.

Additionally, microphone is set to car.

On the rivian, Evplay is the current source (and only bt source) with the rivian sound app specifically showing "Connected:Evplay".

Just now I had AA streaming music, then plugged in the mic and immediately lost audio output. On the bright side, the microphone input did work, so there is that.

Software version 2025.03.19.1126

Unplugging the mic does not immediately bring back sound. Required to reconnect Bluetooth.

I figured it out.

Connecting the mic takes the audio from Bluetooth treating as headphones. However, the next time Bluetooth connects, Bluetooth audio seems to take priority and the "headphones" no longer take the audio.

That was fun, hope I can help someone else avoid my issue!
