Hello,
I don’t know if it’s just me, but my EV Play simply will not connect to the hotspot coming from my R1S. It connects to my home WiFi just fine. I have other devices that are able to connect. I’ve re-entered the password on the Rivian side as sort of a password reset, then tried again on the EV Play. But still no dice. Any tips or settings that I need to change on the EV Play?

Hello! Confirming the WiFi dongle is plugged in to one of the white USB ports. Also, have you tried restarting EV Play? Slide down the top tray>Power button>Restart.
I have not head from others on them being unable to connect to the Rivian hotspot. A common problem, which was my fault, is that they were not able to see any WiFi networks -- they were inserting the WiFI dongle AFTER the device was powered on, but the dongle has to inserted to the device before there is power. A quick restart solves that though and the install videos were updated.
What year/generation/model of Rivian do you have?
My EVPlay connects to Rivian hotspot w/o issue.
- Gen1
- R1T
- CarPlay
Same here. Having no luck with the r1t gen1 hotspot.

If you have access to EV Play, do you see a blue light flashing from the Wifi dongle?
Gen2 R1S. Have never been able to connect to the Rivian hotspot. Just installed the wifi dongle I was sent and still no luck. How do I know if EVPlay is using the new wifi dongle or the build-in wifi? It came with a mini CD which I assume has the drivers. Obviously EVPlay doesn't have a CD drive. Did the drivers auto load from the Android OS?
I also tried to connect EVPlay to the hotspot in my Sierra EV. Same exact problem. It's tried to connect and fails just like the R1S hotspot. My iPhone can connect to both the R1S and Sierra hotspots no problem. Crazy how some people aren't having issues.
I can successfully connect EVPlay to my iPhone 16 Pro hotspot but that's not an option as I have to manually make the connection every time.
The Rivian Connect+ subscription is expensive and I'd like to take advantage of the hotspot.

Can EV Play connect to other wifi networks? It's just the Rivian hotspot that is giving you trouble?
Has anyone figured this out? I have the exact same problem and I feel like I need to go buy a new wifi adapter to see if that’s the issue.
Gen1 R1t. My ev play can connect to my home WiFi, or my iPhone WiFi hotspot. My phone can also connect without issue to the Rivian hotspot. The ev play refuses to connect to the Rivian hotspot. All my other devices have no problem connecting to the Rivian hotspot. The ev play give a check saved credential error each time.
I have:
rebooted ev play
forgot and re-added the Rivian network
rebooted the Rivian
