I have a second generation R1S. In addition to not being able to switch to the EV Play UI after the vehicle sleeps until a hard reset, the screen won't stay on the EV Play UI for more than a few seconds while the car is moving. It works fine when the car is stopped, and it doesn't even matter if it's in drive or park.
I don't want this thread to be about the switching problem after sleeping because there's already a thread for that. I only mention it in case the two issues are related.

I had the same issue Gen2 R1S. However I am also having weak wifi signal issue that I can't fix so mine might be related to that. Trying to fix one step at a time
Interestingly, this seems to happen only with specific apps. The only one I really use while driving is YouTube Music.
@killianti This is part of the video-in-motion block which is acting a big wonky to be honest (I'm pushing an update to fix this after the holiday).
For Gen 1, the gear shifting functionality via the CANbus is working intermittently, so this may cause an unintentional switch if you are using a video app while driving (or not).
For Gen 2, make sure you have the GPS puck plugged in but that too is not working 100% and addressed in this next update.
