I am sure this is a "me" thing on settings, but when I get a new message, it's read over my phone. In addition, if I want to send a message, the phone mic and not the car mic are activated. However, when I have spoken a message, CarPlay reads it back to me and asks if I want to send via the car infotainment.
Any thoughts or similar experiences on this?
I'm sure there is some setting somewhere, but there no less than 100000000 places you can configure something that impacts CarPlay.
Thank you

2 things to check:
1) Make sure the Audio Channel in your AA/CP app Settings>Advanced Settings is set to "Bluetooth"
2) Make sure your audio source on your Rivian music screen is set to "Phone/Bluetooth"
@evplayadmin Will do. I am out of town this week for work, but will check when back at car.
For the life of me, I cannot find "Advanced Settings"
In trying to follow all the recommendations, I can now get Apple CarPlay to play out of my Rivian speaker, but apps such as Netflix & Apple TV produce no sound
@captain_sir Do you mean apps downloaded to your phone or to the Android side of EV Play?
@evplayadmin:
The android side
@captain_sir To play apps downloaded to EV Play through your Rivian speakers, you have to pair EV Play's Bluetooth to your Rivian. Put EV Play in pairing mode (Android Settings > Connected Devices > Pair New Device) then switch to the Rivian screen and add new Bluetooth device.
@evplayadmin ok, did this and everything worked as it was supposed.
Until the next time I tried using it. I put of Apple CarPlay and it only played out of my phone. I tried the apps, same thing. I decided just to reconnect my phone to Rivian BT but now my phone will not connect. I tried several times going through the above process again 2/no luck.
Then I tried the hardwired Apple CarPlay again w/no luck.
So now the only Rivian Audio I can use is the original.
I'm sure this is a great product, but it may be beyond my capabilities
Also want to ad that in this process of going back and forth and making sure bluetooth was connected w/EV Play, the system stopped switching using the button. This is the 2nd time this has happened since installing the EVP Watch you created. The 1st time this happened, I waited a minute or so and it started switching again w/the button. That didn't happen this 3nd time so had to pull the footwell cover and unplug/replug the power.
@captain_sir Right, you can either have CarPlay (your phone), or the Android part of EV Play - not both at the same time. You have to switch between the Bluetooth sources in that photo you attached.
@captain_sir Next time just lock the door and step away for like 8 minutes. Once you unlock the door wait about 20 seconds for EV Play to boot and let me know if it continues not switching. I also have an update going out later today.
@evplayadmin I can do that if it freezes again but my bigger issue is what I wrote above re bluetooth
I understand this, maybe I didn't explain it correctly. I was able to get sound playing from the Rivian speakers following your instructions. When I again went to use EVPlay (CarPlay) a few days later, the sound was coming out of my phone. I went and verified that I was connected to EV Play. So I went back and did the procedure again but couldn't get it to play from the Rivian speakers.
At that point, I tried connecting my phone to Rivian bluetooth but was unable to.
So now unable to connect the phone, plus the Rivian Audio says connected to EV Play, but plays through my phone.
You can look at the pictures i uploaded and wee if you can see a problem.
* unfortunate typo: You can look at the pictures i uploaded and see if you can see a problem.
Hoping you can confirm if the settings are correct? What would my phone's Wi-Fi/BT be set to?
