Video Streaming

I was under the impression that I could stream video if I used the mirror mode from my iphone, but prime video gives me the message "this video can't play on your device because it doesn't meet HDCP content protection standards", then when I try to use Netflix the video plays on the phone but just a black screen with sound on my blazer.  Has anyone been able to get these to work or is my only hope spending the $ to get the max device?  I mainly got this to play video while parked charging or eating lunch so hopefully there's a way to make it work.
