I managed to get EV Play installed and mostly working, except one very important thing. The voice assistant just isn't working at all. I use an android, and saw there was some additional settings we needed to use because of some sort of blue tooth bug, which I am guessing isn't fixed yet. Even though the installation video doesn't mention the microphone at all, I went ahead and installed it thinking maybe that might solve the problem. The REALLY interesting thing is that it is VERY responsive to me saying "Hey Google", so it hears me when I say that, but as soon as I give it a command...nothing.

For Android Auto, make sure these are followed:

You then have to pair your vehicle's Bluetooth with EV Play (vs. with your phone).
"Hey Google" works because it's actually picked up by your phone. All commands after that work via the microphone. You can test the microphone by using the Sound Recorder app that comes with EV Play. If that's not working, please reach out to me via email and let's troubleshoot.
