Can't listen to XM or car radio when navigating with CarPlay

When car starts it automatically goes to Apple Music library on my iPhone. (14 pro max, IOS 26.5). I can switch over to vehicle XM or radio and it will stay there as long as I don't have any voice navigation. Whenever Apple Maps speaks directions it will automatically kick back to iphone music library (it displays "phone call ended" after a voice navigation before it kicks back). No voice navigation, no problem. Is there a setting I need to change? thx. Otherwise working fine, no lag and quickly connects.
