I'm curious how EV Play will operate during general start up or waking from a deep sleep. Can AA/Carplay for example be the default screen when I enter my vehicle? Will there be a loading screen or possibly just ready to go when my butt hits the seat?
I love all the possibilities EV play will bring but when I have somewhere to be, I just need my maps and music to load up quickly and I'm ready to drive off. Thanks
As soon as you unlock the doors, the device will boot. It takes about 10-15 seconds to do so. EV Play will not be the default screen, as most users need the Rivian UI as the first screen they interface with in order to perform pre-drive tasks such as turning on the HVAC, setting drive mode, viewing the cameras if you're backing out of a driveway or parking spot, etc. Even if you don't need any of those things, by the time you open the door, get in, and buckle your seatbelt, EV Play would be ready to go and available with a quick click of the wireless remote. Keep in mind this doesn't include the time it takes for CarPlay or Android Auto to wirelessly sync, which takes another 10 to 15 seconds once you get in the car.
