It's actually pretty responsive. I will say Android Auto isn't as smooth as Car Play, but I think that's more a function of Android Auto than EV Play.
I have seen some very laggy native CarPlay and Android Auto integrations in the various cars I have owned and rented on business trips over the years, and EV Play seems to be far better than a lot of them.
