What does EVPlay use as a trigger to toggle day/night mode in CarPlay/AA? In most first-party implementations it's triggered by a light sensor or the headlight state so that it remains in sync with the vehicle's own lighting and instrument cluster. In external devices it appears to be entirely time-based (e.g. my CarPlay screen always turns to night mode at 6 pm) which puts it out of sync with the rest of the vehicle. Given the fact that EV Play plugs into a vehicle harness, is there any chance it could integrate with the vehicle's instrument panel state so that it always matches?
Edit: Same question as it applies to screen brightness. Does EVPlay integrate with/respect the Rivian-configured screen brightness?
For Android Auto & CarPlay, you will be able to set the "night time" hours which will toggle between the light & dark themes. The same is true with the EV Play UI, within the Android settings. With respect to brightness -- when you unlock and enter the vehicle, it starts on the Rivian UI. If you switch over to EV Play, it adopts that brightness. As you drive and the interior gets darker or lighter, toggling back to the Rivian UI for a short period of time will generally resync it to the brightness of the other screens in the car. Alternatively, there is a brightness slider on EV Play you can adjust if you prefer.
