Many SUVs and minivans on the market have a setup where the rear screen can be playing a movie or some content, and it’s completely separate from the infotainment going on for the front seats.
i know the first generation device won’t be able to replicate this functionality, but I’ve seen mention of extension modules to control the other displays, and being able to do this dual zone infotainment for the rear would be great. Especially if that device can send its audio over Bluetooth to whatever devices the rear passengers are using, and be able to pair to anywhere from 1-5 separate Bluetooth devices, all getting the same audio output.
Tangentially related: split-screen apps are really nice, especially on such a large display. Three or four zones would be even nicer, but I know that's harder to implement.
Does the rear display use the same adapters? Could we get like a Rivian display adapter to HDMI converter? Then we could hook up whatever to the rear screen.
I vote PS5 or retro Pie
add me to this request rear screen video for the kiddo and even just music up front would be ideal
Yes, command of all screens is in the future roadmap. My kids are begging me to be able to watch Mr. Beast videos and play Minecraft. I hooked up one of those 50,000 retro game sticks the other day and played some old school Street Fighter while DC fast charging. I'll try and post a video this weekend.
Currently, you can use certain HDMI to USB adapters (I'll eventually sell them from the site or link to Amazon) to plug in things like a Steam Deck or Firestick. It still needs a bit of testing but works pretty well right out of the box. I think offering an expansion module which allows you to plug in your own HDMi device to the rear screen is the preferred offering, what do you think?
@evplayadmin while having an HDMI port for plugging in devices would be nice, I’d prefer that not be the only option. Being able to easily launch separate apps to stream content on the rear display without plugging in another external device is the desire.
also being able to pair 1-5 Bluetooth devices directly to that device so that people in the back can listen to that audio without needing to put that contents audio over the main speakers is the desire.

Noted and yes, that would be a great feature!
