What is EV Play Cam?
EV Play Cam is an app that runs on your GM infotainment system which allows you view live Wi-Fi and IP camera feeds right on your vehicle’s screen. It connects to your camera(s) over your vehicle’s built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, or through the internet. There’s no extra hardware to buy or install!
Which General Motors Vehicles are compatible with EV Play Cam?
EV Play Cam is compatible with the following GM vehicles:
- Chevrolet: Bolt EV (new-gen, 2027), Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV
- GMC: Hummer EV (Pickup & SUV), Sierra EV
- Cadillac: Lyriq, Lyriq-V, Optiq, Vistiq, Escalade IQ / IQL, Celestiq
- Chevrolet: Silverado (2022+), Tahoe (2022+), Suburban (2022+), Colorado (2023+), Traverse (2024+) — plus Corvette and others rolling in
- GMC: Sierra (2022+), Yukon (2022+), Canyon (2023+, Colorado’s twin), Acadia (2024+)
- Buick: Enclave (2025+)
- Cadillac: Escalade (2023+) and the newer ICE Cadillac
What kind of cameras does it work with?
EV Play Cam supports most Wi-Fi cameras that support RTSP or ONVIF. If you don’t have a camera already, we recommend, and provide instructions for, this one.
How many cameras can I view at once?
Up to two — one full-screen, or two side by side. You can add and name your cameras in the app’s settings.
Is it easy to install?
Super-easy — download the EV Play Cam app, turn on your vehicle’s Wi-Fi hotspot, and enter your camera’s RTSP address. The app auto-detects your camera’s IP, which make a most of the set-up easy to manage. A QR code links to full step-by-step setup instructions.
Does EV Play Cam support audio?
It does and you can turn audio on per-camera any time you want to listen in.
Does it work while I'm in motion.
Yes, since camera feeds are normally glanced at only occasionally, they will be viewable while the vehicle is in motion.
